A Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Oberlander graduated from Indiana University Medical School in 1994.
He performed a transitional residency at Ball Medical Hospital in Muncie, Indiana and then completed an Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas in Galveston.
Dr. Oberlander practiced in Ft. Myers with world-renowned cataract surgeon David Brown, and now resides in St. Petersburg with his wife, son and daughter.
Jason M. Handza, D.O.

Dr. Jason Handza, President of Gulf Coast Retina Specialists, P.L.L.C, is an independent contractor providing retina care for patients at Eye Associates of Pinellas.
Dr. Handza is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Fellowship trained Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon. He specializes in the treatment of retinal diseases, including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, retinal detachments and laser surgery. He has been involved in many research studies, recently as a Co-Investigator in the study of Lucentis, the revolutionary treatment for “wet” macular degeneration.
Dr. Handza received his medical degree with honors from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his post graduate fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the nationally respected University of South Florida Eye Institute.
He has trained under many well known physicians considered to be experts in the field of ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery.
John B. Wachter, O.D.
Optometric Physician
Proud owner of Eye Associates of Pinellas, Dr. Wachter graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1990, where he received clinical honors and was a member of the Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa.
His residency in ocular pathology was completed locally at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in 1991.
Dr. Wachter is a member of the Pinellas Optometric Association and was also President of the POA in 1996.
Dr. Wachter resides in Tarpon Springs with his wife, son and daughter.
Lori R. Hassinger, O.D.
Optometric Physician
Dr. Lori Hassinger is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She is a member of two honor societies, The Gold Key International Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa. Dr. Hassinger has been a member of the Pinellas Optometric Association and Florida Optometric Association since graduation.
She has training in specialty contact lens fitting and regularly attends educational meetings.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Hassinger now resides in Saint Petersburg with her husband, dog and cat.
Jennifer S. Landy, M.D.
Cosmetic and Ophthalmic Surgeon
Dr. Landy is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She performs Cosmetic, Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Eyelids, Lacrimal System and Face. Dr. Landy is part of a small percentage of surgeons in the United States with training in ophthalmology, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery. Ophthalmic plastic surgery deals with diseases affecting the eyelids, tear ducts, muscles and nerves surrounding the eye and the bones of the eye socket. Dr. Landy graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as an Economics and Pre-Medicine major. She continued her medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where she graduated Cum Laude. She then went on to do a General Surgery internship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida where she served as Chief Resident. She then received Oculoplastic training at the Older and Slonim Eyelid Institute. She received additional training specializing in facial cosmetic surgery and liposuction surgery. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and won the 1999 Charles L. Wisseman Jr. Award for Excellence in Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Landy is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Landy has over ten years of experience in health care. In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Landy has contributed to over eleven publications regarding ophthalmic disease. She has recently written a chapter on Cannilicular disease which was published in The Lacrimal System, an Oculoplastic textbook in 2006. Dr. Landy enjoys her position as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida.
