What is LATISSE®?

LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only science-based prescription treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for hypotrichosis that is used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

How is LATISSE® used?
LATISSE® solution is a once-daily prescription treatment applied to the base
of the upper eyelashes with a sterile, single-use-per-eye disposable
applicator. LATISSE® should not be applied to the lower eyelashes as there
is a potential for hair growth to occur in areas where LATISSE® comes in
repeated contact with skin surfaces, and only the sterile applicators packaged with LATISSE® should be used to
apply the treatment. Don’t allow the tip of the bottle or applicator to contact surrounding structures, fingers, or
any other unintended surface in order to avoid contamination by common bacteria known to cause infections.
Contact lenses should be removed prior to application of LATISSE® and may be reinserted 15 minutes following
its administration.

How was LATISSE® studied?
LATISSE® solution was clinically tested in a Phase III study. Patients were randomly assigned to apply
treatment with LATISSE® or vehicle to both upper eyelids, at the base of the lashes, once daily for 16 weeks.
The primary efficacy endpoint was overall eyelash prominence at the end of the 16-week treatment period as
measured by a ≥1-grade improvement on a 4-point Global Eyelash Assessment Scale. Secondary efficacy
endpoints were eyelash length, thickness, and darkness. All of the endpoints in the LATISSE® pivotal trial were
met. By the end of the 16-week treatment period, patients treated with LATISSE® experienced statistically
significant greater improvement (p < 0.0001 for each endpoint) than those in the placebo group in the
measurements of eyelash prominence, length, thickness and darkness.

Does LATISSE® work?
In a Phase III clinical study, LATISSE® solution users
experienced statistically significant improvements in eyelash
prominence at the end of the 16-week timeframe, including:
 A ≥1-grade improvement on a 4-point Global Eyelash
Assessment Scale
 25% increase in length of their eyelashes (vs. 2% for
vehicle)
 106% increase in thickness/fullness of their eyelashes
(vs. 12% for vehicle)
 18% increase in darkness of their eyelashes (vs. 3% for
vehicle)

What are the possible side effects of LATISSE®?
The most common side effects after using LATISSE® solution are
an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was
reported in approximately 4% of patients. LATISSE® solution may
cause other less common side effects which typically occur on
the skin close to where LATISSE® is applied, or in the eyes.

Are there any special warnings associated with LATISSE® use?
If you are using LUMIGAN® or other products in the same class for elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), or if you
have a history of abnormal IOP, you should only use LATISSE® under the close supervision of your physician.
LATISSE® use may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be
permanent. It is also possible for a difference in eyelash length, thickness, fullness, pigmentation, number of
eyelash hairs, and/or direction of eyelash growth to occur between eyes. These differences, should they occur,
will usually go away if you stop using LATISSE®.

How does LATISSE® work?
Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen)
phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases
the number of hairs in this growth phase. Bimatoprost is the active pharmaceutical ingredient in LATISSE®.

What happens when you stop treatment with LATISSE®?
To maintain effect, continued treatment is required. If use of LATISSE® solution is discontinued, eyelashes will
gradually return to where they were prior to treatment over a period of several weeks to months (average
eyelash hair cycle).

Where can I purchase LATISSE®?
LATISSE® is available only by prescription, and any doctor can prescribe it. In most states, it is permissible for
doctors to dispense prescription products, so consumers can purchase LATISSE® from Ajuva Cosmetique at Eye Associates of Pinellas.

Important Information About LATISSE®

LATISSE® solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer,

Important Safety Information

If you are using prescription products for lowering eye pressure or have a history of eye pressure problems, only

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary).

When will I see results from a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?

Is treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic painful?

Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

What is JUVÉDERM®, JUVÉDERM® Ultra and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus?

JUVÉDERM® Ultra and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, approved by the FDA in June 2006, are hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers and the only HA dermal fillers FDA-approved to last one year from initial treatment (includes up to two touch ups), providing a smooth, long-lasting correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. JUVÉDERM® dermal filler is the latest advance in HA dermal filler options from Allergan, Inc. 

• JUVÉDERM® is the first and only smooth consistency gel formulation, and the only HA dermal filler developed using the proprietary HYLACROSS™ technology, a technologically advanced manufacturing process that results in a malleable, smooth gel. JUVÉDERM® flows easily into the skin and creates a smooth, natural look and feel.

How JUVÉDERM® Works

• The key component in JUVÉDERM®, hyaluronic acid, is a naturally occurring, biodegradable complex sugar found in the human body and in all mammals. Among other things, hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin and adds volume, contributing to the overall appearance of the skin.
• The ability of cells to produce hyaluronic acid diminishes with age, often resulting in the formation of facial wrinkles and folds as the skin loses volume. JUVÉDERM® is administered in small doses by intradermal injection directly into moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the “parentheses” along the side of the nose and mouth), temporarily filling and augmenting the treated area.

A Brief Description of Relevant Indications for Use, Contraindications, Warnings, Precautions, and Adverse Events for JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel

Indication: In the United States, JUVÉDERM® injectable gel is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).

Contraindications: JUVÉDERM® injectable gel should not be used in patients who have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or history or presence of multiple severe allergies. JUVÉDERM® injectable gel should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins.

Warnings: JUVÉDERM® injectable gel should not be injected into blood vessels. If there is an active inflammatory process or infection at specific injection sites, treatment should be deferred until the underlying process is controlled.

Precautions: The safety of JUVÉDERM® injectable gel for use during pregnancy, in breastfeeding females, or in patients under 18 years has not been established. The safety and effectiveness of JUVÉDERM® injectable gel for the treatment of areas other than facial wrinkles and folds (such as lips) have not been established in controlled clinical studies. Patients who are using substances that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, as with any injection, may experience increased bruising or bleeding at injection site. Patients should inform their physician before treatment if they are using these types of substances. As with all skin-injection procedures, there is a risk of infection. JUVÉDERM® injectable gel should be used with caution in patients on immunosuppressive therapy, or therapy used to decrease the body’s immune response, as there may be an increased risk of infection. The safety of JUVÉDERM® injectable gel in patients with a history of excessive scarring (e.g., hypertrophic scarring and keloid formations) and pigmentation disorders has not been studied. If laser treatment, chemical peel, or any other procedure based on active dermal response is considered after treatment with JUVÉDERM® injectable gel, or if JUVÉDERM® injectable gel is administered before the skin has healed completely after such a procedure, there is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the treatment site.

Adverse events: The most commonly reported side effects are temporary injection-site redness, swelling, pain/tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, and bruising. Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less).

What is Natural Permanent Makeup?

Corrective and Camo Services

Anna was beside herself when she came to see Tammy. She had been to several technicians that would not even attempt to correct what had been done to her.

Her brows were black, large and not placed properly on her face. Her eyeliner was blown out into the skin on all planes, and a large black mark, resembling a tear drop had formed under her right eye. This is primarily caused from the procedure being placed too deep, or the skin being over worked. This causes excessive swelling and migration of the ink.

During Anna’s first three visits, we worked to layer in various translucent skin tones to cover up and blend out her under eye migration.

On Anna’s last visit, Tammy thinned down her eyebrows and raised the back ends by camouflaging over the outer edges with various skin tones and blending it out in the surrounding areas. We then brightened the black eyebrows themselves with a bright orange color, before covering over it with a taupe blonde, and extending them to match her features.  Anna is finally looking softer, happier and years younger!

The new brows will look slightly orange in color for about four days, before softening up to a beautiful blonde.  An additional application may be required to complete the process, but for now, we wait.  Anna is going up north for the summer and we will resume her transformation in December.  At that point we will also be thinning and softening her eyeliner. 

Need to Know

The information below covers some of the basics that you will need to know before your procedure. 

• No caffeine up to four hours before your procedure.
• No alcohol, except one glass of wine only. 
• Come in without makeup. If not possible, you can remove it before the procedure. 
• Please bring in any of your favorite lipstick color, eyeliner color, and blush color. 
• Have frozen peas handy, to reduce swelling if needed. 
• Purchase A and D ointment, it can be purchased at any local drug store. 
• If you a prone to allergies, please purchase vitamin E oil. 
• Bring in a favorite photo or cut out of your favorite brow shape, or eyeliner. This is optional, we will draw then in from scratch, but the picture could be helpful if you like.
• If you are prone to cold sores procedures could cause breakouts. We advise you to be on a prescription of Zovirax.  Please request prescription from your physician to take for five days prior to application to minimize breakouts.
• Things to avoid after application: Sun, Steam, Chlorine, Makeup, and Cleansers for five days after procedure. Also, avoid scratching, scrubbing, tweezing, or picking at application until fully healed.
